TO DO: make a statement

If you have not been to an anthropologie lately, I implore you: stop by. With a predetermined budget because it will be impossible to walk out of the store empty-handed. I fell in love with the statement necklaces casually strewn throughout the store, like the ones above. Now that I’m teaching preschool (read: all too often my clothes get painted, glued or worse) I love using oversized, colorful jewelry to dress up during the week. I purchased #3, and am thinking it will be perfect this weekend with a white tee and the hot pink flow-y skirt I posted here.

trend trapping

Genius. WC and I love catching innovative business ideas that make us say, “Duh!” [Usually it’s accompanied with a pang of jealousy and “Why didn’t we think of that?”] That’s how I felt when I walked into Sephora the other day and saw their new collaboration with Pantone. Since “tangerine tango” lips, blush or eyeshadow aren’t for the faint-of-heart, I walked away with their nail enamel set.

Speaking of the color of year, have you seen the tangerine KitchenAid mixer? It almost makes me want to rethink my kitchen color scheme.

pretty little things

A few of my favorite things I’ve seen around this season: some early Christmas presents I’ve been lucky enough to receive, and some on which I caved and gifted myself.

1. essie’s winter collection, especially “bobbing for baubles,” a jewel-toned navy, “cocktail bling,” a lavender-gray mix and “size matters,” a spicy new red.  2. j.crew factory tortoise wallet3. ban.do back and forth bobbi set (I also love their no-headache jewel-toned headbands). 4. kate spade new york “grady” polarized sunglasses. how precious are the arms?! and the black pair have polka dots.  5. crate and barrel snowflake candleholder (the whole set creates mystical shadows on your walls and ceilings).
