brighten up, part 2

This amazing neon striped shirt has been popping up all over the blogosphere, but I think if I buy another piece of bright or neon clothing this season, my coworkers will seriously get the wrong impression about me. I blame it on the dreary mood I’ve had with this sinus infection I’ve had for the entire month of February, but my closet is now singing the praises of this season’s neon colors, with exciting additions from some unexpected places (even classically conservative Ann Taylor has gone neon!).

1. Ann Taylor’s newest accessories include adorable cap-toed shoes and bright belts. 2. I love this Ruche sorbet-colored necklace with chambray button-downs or white tees [no longer available]. 3. I plan to wear J.Crew’s bright tees with everything, from lace to denim. 4. I love these chinos; a twist on bright-colored denim you can wear to work. 5. I can’t wait to wear this Old Navy maxi skirt with turquoise and gold this spring.

loose lines, long baubles and bright colors

My mantra for packing for vacation in the Florida Keys: loose clothes, bright colors, and accessories to boot. I [surprisingly, to me] found some great buys at Old Navy, like these bright red jeggings and striped multi-colored tunic. Having not been a fan of Old Navy since junior high, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how perfectly their jeans fit my petite 5’1″ frame (I even have to hem my Citizen petite and J.Crew “short” denim). I mixed some new clothes, mostly bought at serious bargains in Christmas sales like this Gap striped sweater, with some warm-weathered classics, like these J.Crew chino shorts.

Merry Christmas, and see you in 2012!
